County Cooking Competition 2006

The cooking competition, an annual competition for teams from all troops in the Scout County of Greater London South West, was held on Sunday 5th February 2006 at 1st Hook Scout Headquarters. The aim was to cook a three-course meal for four people in two hours and using ingredients costing less than £12.50.

There are normally bonus points available for presenting a meal with an imaginative interpretation of the competition theme. The theme this year was ‘Today’s Special’:

There are a number of people who, for medical or other reasons, require special diets. This year’s challenge was to create a meal for one of the following groups: ‘Gluten Free’, ‘Lactose Intolerant’ or ‘Vegetarian’.

Twenty-six teams took part and the full results can be seen on the GLSW web site. Only two teams from Sutton District entered and they finished in joint 11th place, nine points behind the winners, the East Mitcham A team.
