The 3rd Carshalton ‘A’ team with the Tate Shield

The Tate Shield Competition took place on Saturday 19th November 2005 at Frylands Wood Scout Campsite, starting at about 4:30pm and finishing at about 12:30am. It was a dry, clear and cold evening with the temperature dropping to as low as −4°C in the car park.

There were sixteen teams entered representing eleven Troops from Sutton District: 3rd Beddington, 3rd Carshalton, 5th Carshalton, 9th Carshalton, 1st North Sutton Chindit, 1st North Sutton Gurkha, 1st North Wallington, 1st Wallington, 11th Wallington, 14th Wallington and 15th Wallington.

The 3rd Carshalton ‘A’ team finished in first place, the 1st North Wallington ‘A’ team in second place and the 1st North Sutton Chindit team in third place.

The pictures below show the Double Rope Bridge, the Bell Box, the Spider’s Web, the Pulley Lift, the Minefield, the Giant Stride, the Bungee Run, the Single Rope Bridge, the Sedan Chair and the Crate Walk bases. The other bases were First Aid, Air Rifle, Compass, Towers of Hanoi, Canon Run, Taste/Smell and Leaky Pipe.
