Operation Red Flare, a 13-mile night hike with ten checkpoints and seven incidents took place in the area around Shaws Campsite near Biggin Hill on the night of Saturday 26th February 2005. Altogether 22 teams – Explorers, Network and Rangers – took part and about 35 adults were involved in the running of the event.

Two teams from Double Dragon ESU and a mixed Sutton ESU/GLSW Network team took part: the Sutton ESU/GLSW Network team achieved first place with 430 points, the Double Dragon ‘B’ team achieved joint 3rd place with 311 points and the Double Dragon ‘A’ team achieved 21st place with 92 points.
