The Double Dragon ESU Team
The second GLSW County Explorer Night Hike took place on Saturday 15th October 2005. From 7:30pm onwards twenty-two teams from all parts of the County were set off at five-minute intervals into the countryside around North Holmwood village hall in Surrey.
In all, sixteen teams completed the full 12½-mile Gold route, two teams completed the shorter Silver route and two teams completed the shorter Bronze route.
Two teams from Sutton District took part – a Belmont ESU team and a Double Dragon ESU team. The Belmont team completed the Gold route in a fast time of four hours and twenty minutes and, narrowly beaten by a team from Hampton (by five minutes), gained the second place Gold trophy. The Double Dragon team completed the Bronze route in five hours fifty-four minutes and gained the second place Bronze trophy.
