We understand that DofE can get a little confusing at times, therefore we have provided clear explanations on each sectional requirements and what evidence you need to upload to eDofE. Please note this list is not exhaustive – your DofE Leader may ask you to upload additional evidence depending on the section or award.

It is highly recommended that you read this at the start of any award you are completing, and when you are submitting items for approval on eDofE, to make sure everything mandatory has been submitted.

Assessor’s Report Requirements

You must have an Assessor’s Report for each of the different sections of your award. It must contain all of the following information for it to be approved:

  • The Assessor is:
    • Not related to you (family friends are accepted provided they are not related to you)
    • At least 18 years of age
  • Your name is mentioned in the report.
  • The start and end dates are the minimum for that section’s timescale.
  • The Assessor has provided their contact details, and it should match what it written on your programme planner.
  • The report confirms you have partaken in your chosen activity for at least an hour a week.
  • The report confirms you have met your goals.

Programme Planner Requirements

Make sure you have received approval on your programme planner from your DofE Leader before starting the activity. Your programme planner:

  • Must have a challenging goal
    • If you are using the same activity as a previous award level, your goal needs to show continuous improvement with that activity
  • Must contain the name, role and at least one contact method of your Assessor. If your Assessor is a teacher, you may write Mr or Miss – you don’t need to find out their first name!
