Scientist Badge 2004

On Saturday 13th March seventy-five Cub Scouts descended on a small group of Leaders in the science labs at St Philomena’s School in Carshalton for a three-hour Scientist Badge session.
The leaders ran eight bases:
- Acids, alkalis and pH
- Light and colours
- Fibres, insects, cells and embryos under the microscope
- Hot air balloon and properties of air
- Games base
- Pulse rate and breathing
- Flame analysis of chemicals
- Simple circuits with batteries, bulbs and switches
The Cubs spent about 20 minutes at each base with a short break for drinks and biscuits half-way through.
All the Cubs that stayed for the whole session gained their Cub Scout Scientist Badge.
