Our District
Scouting in the United Kingdom is organised in Groups, Districts, Counties and National Headquarters. Sutton District was formed on 26th April 2005 by a merger of Sutton & Cheam District and Wallington, Carshalton & District. We are the second largest of five Districts in the Scout County of Greater London South West. There are twenty-three Scout Groups in our District with a total of nearly 2,000 members. Each Scout Group has its own distinctive coloured Group scarf (see below).
Most Scout Groups have three Sections and there are a further two Sections organised by District and County for the older youth members. The Sections are:
- Beaver Scouts (aged 6–8)
- Cub Scouts (aged 8–10½)
